Lightweight recycled ripstop dries fast, handles hard play, and turns into a different color when it gets splashed — a small built-in magic trick that earns its place on a kid's adventure short.

Regular Fit
Regular fit through the hip and thigh with a short inseam and an encased-elastic waistband — a clean, easy silhouette sized for the way little kids actually move. The cut doesn't bind at the hip when running, climbing, or sitting cross-legged on a rock, and the elastic waistband means no buttons, zippers, or snaps to wrestle with at the trailhead or the splash pad. Sized to be lived in, not sized to be dressed up.
Circular Design
Thoughtfully designed to be disassembled and recycled back into raw materials for a second generation of products at the end of the garment's life. The construction uses single-material panels and easily separated components that can be re-spun without the typical blended-fabric complications. A pair of shorts that closes its own loop, instead of becoming tomorrow's textile waste.
FlashDry-XD™ Performance
FLASHDRY-XD materials offer enhanced moisture management to help keep them comfortable and increased abrasion resistance for extra durability — the XD is the "extra-durable" version of FlashDry, with a tighter weave and stronger yarn construction that holds up to playground abrasion, rock scrambles, and the rough side of a tree trunk. FlashDry pulls sweat off the skin and spreads it across the surface for fast evaporation, which is what keeps the shorts from staying damp after a hard run or a wet-water session.
Recycled Polyester Ripstop
Body fabric made with 100% recycled polyester ripstop — the ripstop weave resists small tears from branches, playground equipment, and the everyday abrasion a kid's short takes in a season. The 130 g/m² weight is light enough to dry quickly after a puddle jump or a swim, sturdy enough to wear as a primary short for a full summer. The recycled content keeps post-consumer plastic out of the waste stream.
Encased-Elastic Waistband
Encased-elastic waistband — the elastic is hidden inside a fabric channel rather than exposed at the waist edge, which holds its shape through years of pull-and-release, sits flat against the skin without binding, and looks cleaner than an exposed elastic. The waistband grows with the kid through a season, so the shorts don't get too small halfway through the summer. No drawcord, no buttons, no zippers — pull on and go.
Drop-In Hand Pockets with Mesh
Drop-in hand pockets with mesh lining — the slash-cut pockets lie flat against the thigh when empty, and the mesh lining lets water drain quickly after a splash-pad session or a rain shower. The mesh breathes, so a wet hand goes in and out without leaving the pocket damp. Sized to hold a small rock, a piece of chalk, a snack, or the standard-issue kid pocket collection of small treasures.
Water-Changing Phantom Print
Water-changing print revealed when the shorts get wet — a hidden design that appears when the fabric is splashed, splattered, or soaked. The dry shorts look like one color; the moment they touch water, the phantom print blooms across the fabric. A small built-in magic trick that turns a puddle jump, a swim, or a sudden rain shower into a visual reveal. The print is bonded to the fabric rather than printed on top, so it survives the wash cycle and reappears every time the shorts get wet.
Raised Heat-Transfer Logo
Raised, shiny, kiss-cut heat transfer logo on the left thigh — the kiss-cut construction is what gives the logo a subtle dimensional feel on the fabric surface, and the shiny finish catches the light without being a loud reflective stripe. Heat-transfer construction is lightweight, low-bulk, and bonded to the fabric so it survives a season of wash cycles and playground wear. Machine Wash
Machine wash cold with like colors. Use a mild detergent. Turn the shorts inside out to protect the heat-transfer logo on the thigh. Wash with similar technical fabrics to avoid pilling from rougher materials like denim. Cold water preserves the recycled polyester, the FlashDry-XD finish, and the water-changing print. The 130 g/m² fabric is light enough to dry quickly even on a low-heat cycle.
Tumble Dry Low
Tumble dry on low heat, or hang dry. Remove from the dryer promptly to minimize wrinkles. High heat will degrade the FlashDry-XD finish, the recycled polyester, and the heat-transfer logo. Low heat or line drying extends the life of the shorts significantly. The lightweight ripstop dries fast, so a low-heat cycle is usually enough — line drying works even on a humid day.
Do Not Bleach or Iron
Do not use chlorine bleach, fabric softener, or iron. Bleach breaks down the recycled polyester and degrades the FlashDry-XD finish. Fabric softener coats the fibers with a film that reduces moisture-wicking performance and clogs the mesh pocket lining. Ironing directly on the shorts will melt the heat-transfer logo and damage the water-changing print.
Rinse After Swimming
Rinse the shorts in fresh water after a chlorinated pool or a salt-water swim — chlorine and salt both degrade the FlashDry-XD finish and the recycled polyester over time. A quick rinse in clean tap water, then a normal wash cycle, keeps the finish performing like new. The mesh pocket lining drains quickly, so a shake-out and a hang will get most of the water out before the rinse.
Pre-Soak Stains
Pre-soak grass, mud, or food stains in a mild detergent solution before washing — the longer a stain sits through a hot dryer cycle, the more permanent it becomes. A 30-minute pre-soak in cold water with a small amount of detergent will lift most playground stains without needing bleach. The lightweight ripstop releases stains easily, so a pre-soak usually does the job.
Storage
Fold and store in a cool, dry place. Hang on clip hangers by the waistband if hanging, to avoid stretching the encased elastic. A standard wire hanger can pinch and distort the waistband over time. Keep the shorts away from direct sunlight in storage to preserve the water-changing print effect.
